Today is the longest day, otherwise known as Summer Solstice which means we shall be enjoying 16 hours and 38 minutes of daylight! The sun rose at 4.52am and will be setting at 9.26pm. We had hoped that this would coincide with restrictions being lifted however following the latest news from Boris Johnson on 14th June this has now been delayed.
There is something poignant about the longest day – marking the beginning of summer, the schools winding down ahead of the 6-week summer break and holiday time with friends and family. This year continues to be ‘unusual’ due to Covid-19 however when the sun is shining, and you can enjoy sitting and being outside its something to be thankful for.
Do you celebrate/recognise Summer Solstice? If so, we’d love to hear what you do.
We asked some of our team if they had anything special planned - the general response was eating and drinking outside and enjoy the longer, lighter, evenings.
