Spirit of Youth Project #2

The final performance of Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’ was enacted at one of our managed independent living estates in Guildford recently. The collaboration on the Spirit of Youth project between The Guildford Shakespeare Company (GSC) has been such a success with lots of residents getting involved and having a great time.
Spirit of Youth is an intergenerational drama project tackling social isolation within their local community. Over the course of 10 weeks the residents and children from a local junior school will work together to create a 15-20 minute version of a Shakespeare play, which they later perform in front of family and friends.
We hope to expand this project to include residents from other nearby estates, as you can see from the photos what a great time is had by all.
