An open letter from our Chief Executive, Lorraine Collis
26 May 2020
Moving into spring this year has been a bit different to what we’d envisioned, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone within our organisation for stepping up and adapting their way of working while the UK continues to navigate the coronavirus situation.
We have worked to ensure that our estates remain safe and well maintained, all while providing much needed support and reassurance to leaseholders. We know that for many leaseholders this extra layer is important as some are currently isolated from their families and usual connections.
What is amazing is, true to form, there have been some great ideas and suggestions during this time, many of which we have implemented. Some great feedback from appreciative and happy leaseholders and the usual funny stories as well as some feedback on the seriousness of what is going on.
Despite the challenges and uncertainty brought by the coronavirus, we continue to work as a team, working remotely throughout the organisation, adapting working styles as business demands, whilst also dealing with the impact to our employees and their loved ones on a personal level.
We have learnt that social distancing does not necessarily equal feeling disconnected, and, in many ways, this has brought us closer together as a team and with our leaseholders. We continue to learn and welcome any feedback or stories that come our way.
It is uncertain what the next few weeks and perhaps months will look like, but we will face it the ELM Way.
Thank you once again, please stay safe and take care of yourselves.
