VE Day celebrations – Apart but together

VE Day celebrations – Apart but together

We have had so many wonderful photos and stories come over in the last week sharing the socially distant celebrations from the recent weekend which marked the 75th anniversary of VE day, it has taken us some time to organise them all and pick a few of our favourites to share.

Lots of residents at our estates decided to celebrate sensibly, many put up decorations and set up on their balconies or in their gardens with their chairs (two metres apart) for some celebrations in the sun.

One of our estates enjoyed their third visit from the ‘Mead Road Musicians’ who dressed up and played a number of fitting songs for the VE day weekend; almost the whole development joined in to watch from afar in their flats, bungalows, or gardens. Another of our estates enjoyed some socially distant karaoke in the carpark, with songs from the war period. Many other enjoyed good conversation and a drink in the sun with members of their household and neighbours within the estate.

They are lucky to have such great neighbours and a fantastic community.

"My mother has lived here for 10 years now and has the best of both worlds, the independence which she values and the friendships of the other residents"
