Tring Heritage Plaque Unveiling
06 Oct 2017
A slice of Tring's history was celebrated at one of our estates last week.
The plaque at The Rose & Crown, Tring is one of nine to be installed at significant sites around Tring as part of the Charter 700 initiative, marking the 700th anniversary of the grant of Tring’s Charter in 1315. The project was co-ordinated by Tring & District Local History & Museum Society and Tring Together, the costs being met by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The present building built in 1905 by Lord Rothschild and donated to the Hertfordshire Public House Trust, replaced an old coaching inn which stood on the same site and originated in the 16th century.
The Mayor of Tring, the Deputy Mayor and representatives from Tring Heritage Society, Tring Together and Tring Live attended the unveiling. Don Kennedy from ELM Group, along with a representative from Beechcroft also attended.
